Senior Tutor/Course Director - Charles Harris Award-winning producer, writer and director with a track-record of over 20 years in cinema, TV, video and theatre and co-creator of Screenwriters Workshop. Charles Harris started in the film industry as a projectionist and then trained in acting with Peter Frye of Lee Strasberg's New York Actors Studio, before becoming an assistant film editor, editor and finally writer-director. His first feature script was optioned for production in Hollywood. Now an internationally award-winning writer and director, he has worked all over the world. He recently completed the feature film Paradise Grove - which won major prizes at Palm Springs Festival of Festivals in California. Paradise Grove received its UK theatrical release in 2005, and he is currently signed to direct two new features for European and American production companies. He runs his own production and development company - Footloose Films - and has written and directed for cinema, theatre, TV drama and documentary for BBC and Channel 4. He is also regularly hired as script consultant. An experienced teacher, he co-founded the Screenwriters Workshop, whose students have gone on to win awards themselves for their writing - and who now include some of the top screenwriting teachers in the country - and he runs seminars and workshops at London University, the Actors Centre and the London Film School. He is also certified in Neurological Linguistics. |
